Sota Sapphire isolation setup
An observation. I have a late 80's Sota Sapphire bought used about 10 years ago. The design of the TT has 3 rubber wrapped feet that connect to the case while the platter and arm are independently suspended. Recently I thought to try take the turntable off the feet and support the case edges on Mapleshade isoblocks. This was a success, reduced edginess in highs and greater transient impact in the bass. Still a work in progress as I need to build up the under edge of the case to allow the isoblocks to be centered without interfering with the interior floating chassis, perhaps some stick on feet to give the 1/4" clearance needed. Wondering if anyone else has seen this where the Sapphire is best set up off its feet?
