Something For The Fuse Guys ...

There are fuses, and then, there are fuses.

I'm evaluating some prototype fuses that I received in the mail three days ago.

Over the past few years, I've used fuses from five different manufacturers. The last three were the Red, Black and Blue fuses from Synergistic Research. Each one incrementally improved the sound of my system. My favorite so far was the SR Blue.

The prototype fuses being evaluated presently raises the SQ beyond all of the others mentioned above. The major improvement to my ears is better tonal accuracy. Instruments and voices are more life-like. The noise is reduced allowing for a more solid 3-D presentation with the musicians more solidly presented on the sound stage. Overall, more information is fleshed out of CDs and LPs.

The manufacturer, the price and the name of the prototype fuses will come later. I don't have the information thus far. My understanding is, if all works out, the release date is to be mid-October.

Stay tuned ...

Don't let George read that.....
He will dissolve in a fit of apocalypsy
Just to stir the pot and reawaken the slumbering masses.

Wyred4Sound ship their DAC2 DSDse with a Furutech rhodium plated fuse direct as factory supply.

At least some manufacturers get it......
George.
You really need to chillax a little or your blood pressure is going to be off the charts old boy!

We all deeply appreciate your efforts to try and save us from ourselves.

Great job and thank you.
George.

Please try copying and pasting ALL of Rodmans Statement instead of trying to be clever and failing miserably.

Opened one up(with permission), to look at and test a couple things. Found Hi-Fi Tuning Gold fuses(it’s been a while) in the rails. Never looked at the AC main fuse. He’d just used the amps for demos, at a trade show. Can’t say if he sells his amps, with them installed

Cheers mate!
@nonoise ..
Ayre are also very firm believers in aftermarket fuses AND better footers under their equipment.
I know this personally from numerous discussions with them prior to swapping out the fuse in my ax7e.
I have this in both verbal form and emails from them.
IMHO if it is good with a major mid to high end USA based manufacturer like Ayre then it is MORE than good enough for me.

The ONLY reason I will not be rushing to change from Blue to the new Orange is purely financial as only recently spent $600 on 4 Blue fuses.

Now I have mentioned this previously but let’s say there is a market for used fuses I cannot see them fetching much more than 50% retail if that tbh.

I am awaiting the clean Green fuse thank you......
Surely the next logical colour fuse will be Green.
Claimed benefits will include reduced power consumption earning an Energy Star rating.
And George if your main pleasure in life now is jumping for joy because a thread has been removed.....
Well...
Nuff said really.
Jeez George.
Not only are you sounding like a badly broken record but also an extremely mean and vindictive one.

Keep taking the tablets old boy........
Pretty sure I never claimed to.....
So waiting for your point?

However I do remember the fate of court jesters once they failed to amuse the sovereign any more......
Much rather be accused of having no sense of humor than being the resident forum 🤡.

Reminds me of the days of court jesters.......
I’m sorry but I can’t help just thinking of Dangermouse when I hear Dangerfield.

Probably not much difference......
Orange?
ORANGE??
I am sorry but that just will not do!
It will not match the decor of my room at all.

Frank
Just curious.
After each mass fuse upgrade what did you do with the old red and then black fuses and soon to be blue fuses?
Is there a market for used boutique fuses?
That sucks Jetter.
Sorry to hear.
Had to put one of my Savannah cats down a few months ago, not a nice vet visit at all.
Call me soft and daft I do not care but when the vet handled back Tai, wrapped in the blanket I brought him in so I could take him home to bury, it was hard to walk out without breaking down.
Will someone here start and moderate a FB page, where rules of decorum are enforced? No put downs, etc.  Call it "Audio Forum Refugees".

The ONLY reason it is enforced on Farcebook is because the OP of the original posting, if they are the administrator, has total power and can delete any post and block "subversive " members from further posting.
Can see that working real well here......
It truly would not matter IF a high end manufacturer included a boutique fuse, power cord and/or tubes with their item.
There would still be some Audiophools who would not like THOSE particular boutique items and want to change them out anyway, so why should they bother?

Half the fun for some is the voyage of discovery of what has the best synergy in their system as a whole.
And that does include fuse, pc, ic, sc, tubes, footer etc etc.

Now I know some members believe that they are all a waste of time and money and that is fine, not asking them to spend their money or time if they do not believe.

But please just desist with the outright denigration of said products as it just causes a never ending argument and makes some look extremely narrow minded to boot.

Enjoy your music folks!
Interesting....
I remember talking to someone at Ayre ( sorry do not remember the name) about my ax7e and then at a later date my EX8.
On both occasions they were in full agreement with not only replacement of stock fuse for a boutique fuse but also vibration control.
Hence they even include with their units a set of Myrtle Wood blocks for them to sit on rather than the stock rubber feet.
A toofer from a high end manufacturer.
Or is Ayre not high end enough?
