Snell AIIIi's?? How good are they??

Read some past reviews of the Snell AIIIi's. Stereophile had called it possibly the best dynamic box design speaker of it's time. Sounds Like loved the bid Snells too. Anyone have a pair? And what is a good price to pay for a used pair? The retail was around $6K when Snell stopped making them.

They are as good as they were 27 years ago. Speaker design has changed considerably with the aid computers in the last 20 years. Today’s speakers are much quicker ( faster ) than speakers from just 20 years ago. Lighter, stronger materials and like I said computers have all made speakers better than anything from the 90’s.
As for the Snells, I owned almost all the E and C series in the 90’s.
Very flat, un-colored  sounding speakers. They sounded great with the right equipment, but put anything bright or harsh behind them ouch. That means recordings too.
