From what I understand all the outlets on the Hydra V-Ray is isolated, while the Hydra 8 is not (Analogue vs digital outlets). Personally I would take the V-Ray, especially if you have high current amps. The Hydra 8 may sound a bit less dynamic (softer) and slighly more "analogue".
