Purely for other Vimak owner's benefits given the date of the original post. An an owner of a Vimak DS-1800Mk2, I can advise with authority that Dallas Clarke (Clark Audio) is the only Audio Engineer to have both the ability and experience in fully servicing/restoring Vimak dacs. He is in Australia however, so be prepared to ship your component if you're o/s.
