Separate amp with an avr

Hello to everyone. My question is this. In my bedroom I have a Marantz SR 5010. Can I add an external amp to this receiver for the purpose of supplying power to the main speakers, Paradigm S2. Would it make any difference at all? Just wondering if "better" power to the mains for music and movies, would allow the Marantz more breathing room? The amps in the Marantz are fine, but the Paradigm's use more juice than the Def tech studio 55's that were the mains before. Thankx in advance for any ideas. Just thinking out loud!

Since the Marantz is a decent avr, what dollar ballpark would fit the bill for an amp. Remember this 5.1 setup is in my bedroom. The sky is not the limit. I realize their are many possibilities but a $3000-4000 amp is not reasonable so dial it back. Paradigm s2 fronts, def tech studio 55 back, svs sb1000 sub and old celestion center. I also have to meet wife approval. HA. Thankx to all.

Thank you all. I will give everything a try. I think Mr. Reynolds has a good idea about biwiring. Also a friend has an Anthem amp. I can try it out. All this was a thought. All things to consider.
