Rotel RAP-1580
I was looking into the Rotel RAP-1580 to pair with my BW 805 D3s, an HTM71 S2 center channel (700 series), and some smaller BW's for the surrounds. My question is about the PEQ on the 1580. While it's necessary to have the requisite equipment and knowledge to properly adjust the PEQ, for a novice like myself is it possible to make some simple adjustments to frame the music to my preference when running only the 805s in stereo? That is, could I use the PEQ functionality like a graphic equalizer? On paper it seems that I could if I made some small adjustments to the gain (either by boosting or cutting) with a relatively low Q. For example, if I prefer a fuller bass sound to my music would it make sense to adjust the 20-120 Hz frequency range on the corresponding bands to increase the gain to something like +2 to +4 (or higher) with a Q setting of 2-3? Could I then adjust other bands to my liking in a similar way?
