Rogue ST-100 Tube Rolling

Hi Guys, Looking for a little advice from a Rogue ST-100 owner.

I recently built a pair of Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15, these are very high efficiency at 97db. I am very-very happy, but the volume know barely goes past 7:30 as I listen at low to moderate levels. I think this may be an opportunity.

I have rolled the inverters to telefunken smooth plates and the gain to brimars and am very happy. The rest of my gear is a Perseus Magnum preamp and Cambridge Azur 751N streamer. Like I said, I am a happy listener but like everybody else I am itching for more.

My music preferences are a lot of acoustic guitar, piano, throw in female vocals, that whole sound. Never play very hard rock, rap nor electronica.  Don't really dig classical. I am a Jazz, softer to mid rock, folk, indie listener and as stated above, low to mid listening levels.

I was looking for someone with experience with KT77's, EL34 and 6550 and what their experience was, or maybe I am missing something else. I did try the KT88's and didn't love them, the 120's sound more natural to me.

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys, appreciate the insight, has me doing some different research. As you can tell I am not an expert in the area.

Another question, back to my initial premise. Since I have High Efficiency speakers, have already rolled the smaller tubes, listen at lower levels, and like more the separation of instruments (the space in between).

- Does it make sense for me to be looking for a different power tube than the KT120?

- Does it make a difference I barely move the volume control?

Thank you for that detailed feedback on your experience with Rogue.

I am running my KT120's at 35, I will turn them up some next time I crack the shell. Thanks for that, saw others debating 35 vs 40.

I did have a 5751 Raytheon windmill in there, I do like the Telefunken more as I think it gives me more space between instruments, could also be just the new toy.

I am looking into the 12bh7, seem like there is a consensus that they are cleaner than 12au7's. Did Mark say why he doesn't sign off on then in place of the 12au7's?

From what I am hearing, above responses and google, it seems like a safe experiment to try the Tung Sol 7581A or KT77.
