RIP Bob Gross designer at Speaker Art.

I just found out Bob Gross passed away in July.
Bob made some really good 2 way speakers with his Speaker Art Clef speakers and Speaker Art Super Clef speakers.
The speakers were a 2 way design using an 8 woofer and soft dome tweeter.
Bob would always tell me his favorite 8 inch driver was the Peerless 205R woofer from the 90s.

Bob told me he wanted the design of this Peerless 205R woofer and a man named Howard bought the design from Peerless and never gave the design to anyone else.
Bob always raved about the Scanspeak tweeters from the D2905/9300 Tweeter and the D2905/9500 tweeter.
Here's Bob Gross's obituary from July

I'm ashamed to just hear about this now. Bob was a great guy. I used to live about a mile from him in Morro Bay and would head over to his house to help him out with chores on occasion. He really was a different cat with his, dry, wit. I did enjoy our time together. Bob even helped me setup my living room during my remodel in 2008(employed a pair of his Super Clef's). I ended up moving to North County in 2014 and up to the Sacramento area for work in 2016. Kind of lost touch with him after about 2018 as my career & family life became pretty hectic.

I wish his lovely wife and their extended family the best. The world is truly worse off without him.

I don't log in here any longer and just stumbled across this thread looking up Bob since I hadn't spoken to him in a while & my last email to him went unanswered. Thank you Dan6054 for creating the thread. If you are the person from Minnesota Bob used to talk about, he had nothing but good things to say about you.

…...Ohhh my goodness csmgolf - my error and apology to all and please tell Bob Grost that he is still alive !

You are thinking of Bob Grost. He currently makes the Cerious Techologies line of cables.
This is sad to hear as I did enjoy my conversations with him. I had a pair of his Unity Audio Signatures in gorgeous Koa wood and really enjoyed those speakers. They were also internally wired with Purist Audio who was at that time was a cable company just making a name for themselves.
