Review: van den Hul MC-10 Special Cartridge
Category: Analog
...So what makes one cart preferable over the other? I think synergy. Just something that comes together because of many reasons. The Vanden Hul has synergy (at least with my current system). The MC-10 schools the 103ebony in refinement – lack of distortion, subtle detail, warmth, and way better tracking. At low levels both are easy listening, but turn up the volume a bit and the 103ebony, with all it’s potential, just can’t keep up. Nor can it weather those super complex passages like the MC-10. Yup, All qualities put together - I think the MC-10 is fantastic! Makes me now want to see what an MC-1 special or…… a Frog WHAT? , can do.
