Review: Sound Valves SV-100 Preamplifier
Category: Preamps
Bang for the buck, this is the best preamp there is. For a few dollars in parts, it can be turned from a really nice musical preamp into an awesome preamp which I seriously doubt can be bettered for less than $2,000 in the retail market, it is THAT good. Due largely to the J-Fet design, it has a nice warm, musical tube like sound. Toss in 6 Black Gate caps, 7 UF4007 diodes, and this little preamp will amaze you.
Associated gear
Heavily moded Moscode 600 amp, modified Adcom GCD-750 CDP, Acoustat 3300 speakers.
Similar products
Heavily modified Forte F-44, NAD C-160, Acoustat TNP, Parasound P/FET-900II, Rotel RC-970BX, Minuet in A with $2,500 in mods, etc.
