revel f208

Does anyone have experience with tweaking revel performa f208 speakers by  inserting the sb acoustic beryllium tweeter or the sb appropriate midrange and modifying the f208 towards copying the revel 228be? If so, what exact drivers did you use and what was the results?

Some SB Acoustic tweeters can be swapped without crossover changes. You would need to identify the model number of the tweeters. In some Troels Gravesen kit speakers that is an option.Although it seems to involve swapping a textile ring radiator type for a Be.

Changing the tweeters may not change the sound much. The F208 seems to be deliberately engineered to sound a bit laid back and have a slightly recessed lower treble .It does have slightly recessed imaging which depending on the room and tastes might be a good or bad thing. From the Stereonet measurements there is a dip in the response around 2000-5000Hz.I am guessing there is a resistor on the tweeter which you might want to try removing or replacing with a lower value. That might be a better [and much cheaper] thing to try if you want a more lively/brighter sound.
