There is usually a small screw holding the DIN connector in, remove it and the connector will slip out. Then you can either desolder the wires or just clip them. Go to the cartridge end of the arm, remove the socket and tie a strong thread to the wires. Crazy glue the junction. Now pull the wire from the other end. Detache the thread, tie the end to the new wire and crazy glue the junction, go back to the cartridge end and pull the new wire through.
