@dayglow @dover thanks for the responses! Understand the RB880 would be an incremental step up...but if I did that, is the P8 really that much of an improvement with the same cartridge? To your point, I'm likely not going to get anywhere near the amount of money back that I've invested in my P3...so if I'm going to shell out the money for the P8 I would want a significant audible improvement.
Rega Planar 3 RB880 Upgrade Worth It?
Question for the group to help me make my decision...
I have an upgraded Rega Planar 3 (Groovetracer reference subplatter, Neo PSU, Exact 2 cartridge). I'm considering upgrading the RB330 to the RB880 tonearm & wondering if the upgrade is worth the cost. I know most of you will say upgrade to the 6 or 8 which I have debated...but I like the look of the P3 & am happy with the performance. Maybe down the road I'll upgrade the whole table but not looking to make that investment currently. Thoughts on whether or not the RB880 would make a meaningful improvement to the P3?
