Take it in to qualified professional tech for an evaluation and (likely) service. There is more going on here that needs to be addressed properly and quickly .
Rega Elicit-R
I need help... I have a Rega Elicit-R that is shutting down periodically. It is getting hotter on the left side. My understanding is that an adjustment of the bias will solve this issue.
so, does anybody have a service manual for the Rega Elicit-R? If not, has anybody changed the bias and knows the values?

Looks like a REGA built-in safety feature to protect from an overheating problem caused by a grossly inadequate airflow needed to dissipate heat buildups ; requiring a repositioning of your amp in your rack setup . I have the REGA OSIRIS integrated amp and the REGA ISIS VALVE cdp/ DAC , and their manuals requires a VERY healthy open spacing perimeter required around each unit, ….and NEVER EVER …..have anything stacked on top of either of them . no service manual online - contact REGA directly . https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/my-rega-elicit-r-keeps-cutting-out.212417/ https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/threads/rega-elex-r-hot-to-touch.225566/ https://forums.whathifi.com/threads/rega-elicit-r-sound-cutting-out.119638/ https://www.canuckaudiomart.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=55363&start=15 BUT, AND IT’S A BIG “BUT” …. take it in to a pro tech to inspect it and give a pro assessment ….. there may very well be more mischief to it causing the overheating . You don’t want an embryonic fire hazard on your hands . |
