Recommendations to use Meridian DSP5500s with just a streamer/preamp w/remote volume ?

Flame away and point me to previous threads if exist :-) really looking for the most simple, straightforward solution here.

Building an office system on a tight budget and am picking up a pair of non-upgraded DSP5500’s today.

Looking for suggestions on a streaming unit and remote (universal?) that will allow direct connection (digital or analogue ???) to the Meridian DSP5500’s and allow for control via remote.

Will only be used for streaming Spotify, Tidal and Sirius/XM – Unless there is a great option that includes a CD too.

Not looking for “new” necessarily – on a budget here. Maybe ~$500 +/-

Please any tips, suggestions, DSP settings instructions etc . . . . . . I here that the initial config can me “maddening”
