Reckhorn B-2 Bass Management System

I was looking at some of the Reckhorn products for a DIY subwoofer project and came across this little bass management unit. I'm curious if anyone has used one or has any thoughts on it. Does this offer any advantages over using a digital EQ in iTunes or other similar player other than allowing bass adjustment to analog sources?
