Rebuilding ht Rotel vs. Sherbourn 5.1 or 7.1

Question :
I'm running 7.1 receiver (Denon) with power amp (Rotel-1075)
looking at upgrading (pa) My speakers are B&W CDM-NT series so
120w. isn't enough i have them bi-wired with Signal cables .
So the question is do i look for a more powerful amp 200w to get all the potential these speakers have to offer .
My system is used as home theater and music so i'm going to run a power amp & pre-pro possibly Rotel RSP 1098 .
My problem is should i be looking for a 5ch or 7ch power amp ie; Sherbourn 7/2100 or Rotel RMB-1095 .
What are some of the more popular / reliable pre-amp processors 2nd hand for approx. $1500.00

Thanks for your time ...

All I can say is that Sherbourn is amazing! My 7010A never leaves me wanting anything but more time with it. Musically it is tremendous also. No comparison to Rotel. I gladly gave up an Anthem system for it.
I recommend that you keep your Rotel and get a high quality 2-ch amp. Then run your music without the Receiver. You'll get the best of both worlds, HT and 2-ch music.

I switched from a 2-ch setup to a 7.1 a couple of years ago. It was good for movies but I never liked the music through that system. So I got a 2-ch preamp and a power amp, and run my CDP directly to the preamp. My preamp has a HT-bypass mode for movies.
