Hi,
I am not sure that people can actually send me mail through the forum, so if anyone is interested in the two free tracks, just email me at spam@jeromesabbagh.com mentioning audiogon, and I will send them to you.
Thanks!

"The Turn" - Kickstarter for vinyl limited edition

Thank you all for your support!! The Kickstarter link is here (should be working now): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1834848136/jerome-sabbagh-the-turn-vinyl-limited-edition Jerome |
After consulting with The Mastering Lab, where the LP will be cut, they strongly recommend that I spread the album over 4 sides instead of 3 sides, as I had planned initially. We looked at the album in detail. Even though it's not that long (56:10 minutes), because of the sequence and the durations of songs on the record, trying to fit it on 3 sides would compromise the sound quality. I've decided to take their advice to get the best result possible sonically. I know it's one more flip of the record and I had hoped to avoid it but I think it makes sense to aim for the best result possible and I trust their expert opinion. It will cost a bit more but, because of the success of the Kickstarter, I can afford it. Of course, I will not pass any of this cost to backers. Thanks for your interest and backing! Jerome Sabbagh |
FYI No afiliation with Jerome. Just putting this out there because I enjoyed his music. Dear friends, You are receiving this message because you participated in the Kickstarter for pressing The Turn on vinyl. I have just put out a new record, Lean and I thought you might want to be informed. Lean is a collective project with Simon Jermyn and Allison Miller. Simon, Allison and I have been playing together for three years and the album is a mix of our originals and some improvisations. Jerome Sabbagh: tenor and soprano saxophones Simon Jermyn: electric bass and effects Allison Miller: drums, bike and effects Lean was recorded at Bunker in New York in 96/24, mixed by Pete Rende and mastered by Nate Wood. Lean is available as a CD and download on Bandcamp, where you can stream three songs. It is also available as a 96/24 hi resolution download on Acoustic Sounds. I am really happy with this record and we are starting to get some reviews. The Irish Times described it as "fresh, fearless music", The Wire called it "strong", and Downbeat gave a nice review, as well as the New York City Jazz Record. I hope you will consider listening to it! I won’t be pressing vinyl for this record but I am starting to put together my next project, which I intend to record entirely analog and press to vinyl in 2017. I will keep you posted.
