Monk’s Dream by The Thelonious Monk Quartet is sounding really good this morning. The improvements in PRAT with the QSA stones are especially noticeable on this album. |
History is littered with “experts” who said “That’s impossible, can't be done!”…until someone did. |
Please do not make this thread about George. He clearly has a personal vendetta against products and posters he disagrees with. His purpose in posting is to stir up controversy, draw people into fights and get threads shut down. His clear mission is to suppress open discussion of topics that offend him. I do not understand why he is allowed to continue with this kind of behavior, but it is what it is. Engaging with him, however outrageous, provocative and hate-filled his posts are, Will only help him in his twisted crusade.

I’m still loving what 6 stones (2 red, 2 blue, 2 clear) are doing on top of my power conditioner. Clear improvements across the board; transparency, detail, naturalness, dynamics, PRAT, you name it.
Has anyone tried any of the QSA outlets? |
tyray & others,
Please don’t argue with, or try to convince, George on this thread. He is completely close minded, and it will only aid him in his avowed purpose, which is shutting down threads like this.

“P.S. Is there any way to block or ignore users on here?”
I think it’s on a lot of people’s wish list, but, unfortunately, no. |
Love Nickel Creek’s debut album. Their instruments and vocals are sounding so real and natural. |
jafant,
My simple CD based system currently consists of the following:
audiolab 8000CDM CD transport Audio Note DAC Kit 1.1 NOS tube DAC Antique Sound Lab T1 passive autoformer preamp Antique Sound Lab Tulip stereo 2A3 SET amp Audio Note AN-E-L speakers
Rather than changing components, over the years, I have invested in adding numerous accessories, tweaks and mods, in order to get the best out of what I already have. I continue to be amazed at how much improvement can still be had, when these additions are carefully chosen.
My goal is to get as much of the life, energy, engagement and enjoyment, that I find in live music, out of my CD collection as possible. My musical tastes cover a wide variety of genres; rock, pop, classical, classic jazz, folk, classic country, bluegrass, Christian, Irish, Celtic et al. Basically, good music is good music, regardless of the style. |
The QSA blue fuses and stones rank right up there, along with Perfect Path Technologies Total Contact, E mats and Gate. Others include various Herbie’s Audio Lab products for vibration control, Audioquest Fog Lifter cable elevators, Gutwire Ultimate Ground cables, and a mod to my amp to add a polarity switch.
I have also found good NOS tubes to be superior to currently manufactured ones. |

I know t_ramey has a pair of red stones, has anyone else tried them? I would say that a pair of each color stone (6 total), on top of my power conditioner, has made a more dramatic improvement than putting light blue fuses in my transport, DAC and amp.
Gordon Lightfoot has never sounded better, so relaxed, real and natural! |
millercarbon,
I just put all 6 stones on top of my power conditioner (CPT Equi=Core 300) that feeds all my components, works great. |
The stones are the real deal. Like millercarbon, I put all six (2 of each color) in one place, on top of my power conditioner. I could experiment, but I am very happy with them there. I figure all my components are benefiting that way.
I recently upgraded my pre to a Django Mini passive TVC. That, along with the stones and QSA blue fuses, has brought my system to new heights. I am one happy camper!😃
Shostakovich is one of my favorite classical composers. Listening to his 4th symphony, with Eugene Ormandy and the Philadelphia Orchestra, yesterday, was a real treat. |
Just swapped the SR Orange fuse back into my amp, replacing the QSA Light Blue. Please note that the Orange is treated with TC, whereas the Light Blue is not. Although I kind of understand what Frank is saying about the midrange with the Orange, I clearly prefer the QSA Light Blue over the SR Orange in my amp, in my system. The Light Blue sounds more open, clear and transparent, while still being very musical.
I haven’t tried the QSA Yellow yet, but hope to, as funds allow. If you have tried both the Light Blue and Yellow, what differences do you hear? |
t_ramey,
Can you elaborate on the improvements you heard going from the Light Blue to Yellow in your DAC?
|
millercarbon,
I believe you put the QSA stones on the output transformers of your amp? If so, did you leave them there? I’m considering getting another set of all three, and that’s where I’m thinking of putting them. |
Can anyone give me an idea of how much, and what kind of, improvement you get going from a blue fuse to a yellow one? I'm contemplating another QSA purchase, and trying to decide between a yellow fuse upgrade from blue in one of my components (probably the amp), and another set of 6 stones. |
Anyone else besides myself and millercarbon tried the QSA stones? What about the outlets, has anyone tried those?
|
So far, I’m finding the QSA Stones to be the best value for for me in their line. The trick is to use all three colors together, and put them in places that have strong EM fields, like on top of power and signal transformers.

I believe there have been some issues with spam bots posting on the forum, and that is the solution.

I’ve got a red AC outlet arriving today. After using the yellow Jitterbug on my power conditioner for some time with good results, I decided the next step is to replace it with the outlet. The Jitterbug definitely improved the sound, and is an easy way to try the QSA tech in your system. The downside is that It doesn’t make a real solid connection to the outlet, and adds an extra plug to the power chain. My current outlet is a standard cheapo one, so the red QSA should be a very nice improvement. I’m having a friend help me install it, so, hopefully, It’ll be up and running soon. I’ll post more once I get a handle on the sonic results.
|
That’s really strange, all the QSA products have disappeared from the Tweek Geek website?! Anyone know any more about this?
|
Well, I am very happy with the red outlet, and glad I got it when I did. Just wondering if QSA products will be still be readily available, from a reliable dealer like Tweek Geek, in the future? You know, in case willgolf & I both win the lottery and want to go for their top level stuff😉
