I bought blue fuses for both my main rig and also headphone setup. Very happy with the results.

Am thinking of upgrading my dac, phono and preamp to yellow. Or just upgrade the preamp to purple. Any opinion on which way to go.

Also my YBA instructions say it needs a 10A slo blo, but it came with a 4A slo blo fuse. Do you think its a misprint on the instruction book?. The YBA poweramp says 10A as well. For a poweramp 10A i can understand.

Also is there really a big jump in sound quality of the yellow from the Blue?
Just upgraded from 2 Blues to 2 Yellows in the phono and poweramp. My premap already had a yellow fuse in there.

With just under 12 hrs on burn time, the system is sounding pretty crap. Quite bright/Thin and the music sounds quite constrained. Doesnt have any body to the sound. And yes the fuses are installed in the correct direction.

Also with the new Yellows soundstage is very small and the music plane is very flat with little depth

When i initially got the Blues in my system it was an instant no brainer with instant improvements all round. This was coming from factory fuses. The Blues then continue to improve over a 4 week period.

I hope the yellows will improve over the next few days.
100 hrs on the Yellows.

Still not sounding right. Can’t pinpoint it but my system definitely sounding different in a bad way.
Any one else can share there Yellow burn in experience?
I would like to update on my Yellow fuses. I was still not happy with them at around 100hrs. Now around 160 hr mark I am really impressed . The constriction I was hearing is all gone. Great prat!!
I can say now the Yellows have surpassed the Blues
Thanks Ozzy

i have been using Stabilant, the stuff HIgh Fidelity was using. Is it similar to the NPS 1260?

Anyone trying out the Yellow fuses really do need to burn it in for at least 150hrs before they jump to any conclusions.

With the Blues I felt they were improving until around the 400hr mark . Which was approx 4 weeks in my system.

To me your thread was a one man marketing thread to push sales towards a certain company.

All the impressions was by you and so called golden ear friends whom heard exactly what you heard. Whom by the way did not post to say what they heard, even though you say they are Audiogon members. All we got was you telling us that they heard exactly what you heard!

The thread was not a discussion nor was it very helpful. It was a one man thread
First you raves about QSA yellow fuse that was the best thing to your ears. So good your other friends got the yellows as well. Then you did a 180 saying it was not musical and as expected your friends heard exactly what you heard!!!

Then magically a prototype fuse appears that surprise surprise comes to your hands that addresses ALL the negatives of the Yellow. Which as we remember was the best you heard in your system until just before the prototype appeared.

This QSA thread is different. It’s a thread where many are sharing our thoughts and experiences of a product we have and that we have no direct association with the manufacture !!
Tyray

i hope you are not referring to me as being a Bully.

Frank was wondering why his threads were shut down. I just gave him my thoughts on why his was shut down while this thread remains open.
Have got the direction of fuses all worked out from pics on QSA site for standard fuse holders under or above IEC plug.

But what about screw in fuse holders? Do the arrow of the fuse point inward or outward of the equipment?

cheers
Here is the link to pictures of the direction of fuse insertion

Its the top picture. Look at the top right hand of the picture. It clearly shows you how to insert your fuse for right direction
