I agree with your impressions. The Focals are great for kicking back and enjoying your music. The Quads are more detailed with a refined signature overall.
Quad S3 vs Focal 926
Currently have the 926 which I enjoy. A few years ago I picked up a pair S4 Quads and compared them to the 926. I really liked the imaging of the Quads especially with classical. But ultimately kept the 926s for there ability to fill the room. But I miss the Quads and wish I had kept them as a 2nd pair , I got a great deal on them and loved the looks much better than the Focal.
Does anyone here have the Z series Quads? Especially interested to here what you think about say a Z3 compared to the Focal 926.
