@alightronics I was wondering if you could help me understand a couple of points? 1. I'm curious what you relationship is with AliExpress? 2. For the 845 Acme matched pairs... are they all matched at 90mA? Or what do you mean when you say they are matched pairs for these 845 Acme tubes? Thank you for helping me understand. @alightronics So, I did purchase a matched pair of the Psavne Acme 845's from AliExpress. I must say they do sound very nice. However, periodically the 845 in the right channel will make a disturbing noise for a few seconds right at the time I turn the amplifier on and then the noise goes away never to return during that listening session that may be for about 3 hours long. However, the next day or night I want to listen again, the noise happens yet again when I first power up the amplifier. It's only the right tube, never the left. It only lasts for a few seconds and then goes away until I have to turn the amp on again. I have two other sets of 845's, both different brands and this does not happen at all with those. What is goin on here with these Acme tubes? Other than the start up noise, they sound amazing. To the point that I was thinking of ordering another pair for backup, but not if they are not going to last. Please advise me as to what is happening. Thank you and best wishes, Don |
Just to add to the post above. The noise the 845 makes in the right channel upon turning on the amplifier is kinda of like.... Phfffiiisssst... it only lasts for about 3-5 seconds and then goes away for the rest of the listening session. It only happens upon start up. It's unnerving and very unsettling when it happens as it makes me afraid it going to either ruin my amp or my speaker. |
@alightronics When you say... "This issue might be caused by internal component loosening during long-distance shipping and multiple handlings." I find that to be a very plausible explanation of what may have happened to the tube in question. I went onto the AliExpress website and was looking all over the site for how I could initiate contact with them to discuss the noise issue that I'm having - with one tube of the matched pair of 845 Acme tubes that I had ordered. I couldn't for the life of me find how I can contact them. Then a pop-up appeared asking to do a live chat and that they are there to help me. I clicked on it and had a long back and forth discussion with them where I explained the noise issue that happens upon start up, etc. They arranged for a return shipping label and said that I could return the tubes and that after their inspection my money would be refunded. I explained to the "chat person" that I simply wanted a replacement matched pair that actually works without defect, to be sent to me and that I did not want a refund. They then responded that I needed to contact the seller! I said that I thought this whole time I was communicating with the seller (AliExpress). They said no, we are just a "chat service" assisting the merchant! I still do not know how to contact AliExpress! I guess I will have to just return the tubes via the return label provided; hope and pray I actually get my money refunded. I only say this because the return label receiving address is in Beverly, New Jersey USA. I thought AliExpress was in China? Along with the simple fact that I was not able to actually talk with anyone from AliExpress. I will have to think long and hard to decide if I want to take another chance on ordering these again. Although, I will say that these tubes sounded amazing in my amplifier and I was thrilled by that! So much so, that I was actually contemplating ordering a second matched pair for back up. However, the stress and anxiety of trying to return them and not being able to communicate with the seller is very frustrating to me and I'm not sure if it is worth it to me at the moment. Looking at my PayPal invoice it says... Merchant I have to admit, this is all very confusing to me. When I had ordered the tubes, I don't believe that I had seen them available on Amazon at that time. However, I do see that they are listed for sale now on Amazon being sold via Salience Hi-Fi Audio for a higher price and with only a 12 month warranty and a return window of only 30 days. Whomever I bought my tubes from says a warranty of 2 years with a return window of 90 days and the cost was less than on Amazon.
I did just now receive an automated email from AliExpress that they are awaiting my return shipment though. On the invoice it says GD-PARTS Audio Store. So, I have no idea who I bought these tubes from... Did I buy them from.... 1. Shenzhen Dingwan Electronics Co 2. Cititrans - A 3. AliExpress 4. GD-PARTS Audio Store I'm embarrassed to say that I really do not have a clue. Best wishes, Don |
@alightronics Hello, I had thought that AliExpress was the store that I had purchase the tubes from. Looking at the box they were shipped in, I see a very small label that says the following... Shenzhen Dingwan Electronics Co. 405 Building A No.95-INanlian Community Botanical Garden Road Longgang Strc Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China. However, the address on the return shipping label is address to: Cititrans - A 801 Bridgeboro Road Building 4 Beverly, NJ 08010-1762 Best wishes, Don |
@alightronics Thank you for your correspondence with me via this forum and giving me assurance that I will at least receive a refund, one way or another. I will be shipping these tubes back this morning, using the return shipping label that was provided. I hope all goes well... if so, I may give them another chance and try to order another matched pair as I did really love the sound of these tubes. I just really wish that they didn't arrive defective, because now I am nervous about having to go thru this all over again. I just wanted to come back and say that after a lot of stressful “on me” trying to return the faulty Psvane Acme 845 tubes, due to me not knowing with whom I was corresponding with for the return, not being able to communicate directly with GD-Audio Parts who utilize AliExpress to sell their tubes, etc and not fully trusting if I’d actually receive the refund as promised; I’m very happy to say that I have been fully refunded 👍 So, my question for you is this…. Is it safe for me to buy Psavne 845 Acme tubes from any seller via Aliexpress? There is a selling store by the name of JUEQIZHE Will I get refunded if the arrive defected??? I don’t trust Amazon shipping fragile tubes in bags, and their price is much more expensive. I look forward to your thoughts and response. Best wishes, Don

Thank you for your reply! Yes, I am very thankful that I received my refund as well. Ultimately, I wish the tubes wouldn't have been faulty and that I could still be enjoying them, but I certainly understand that things can happen via shipment. If I were to order directly thru official email that you have provided, do you offer a 90 day free return window and a 24 month warranty on your Acme 845 tubes? Best wishes to you, Don |
So, my question for you is this…. Is it safe for me to buy Psavne 845 Acme tubes from any seller via Aliexpress? There is a selling store by the name of JUEQIZHE Vacuum tube brand export store that is utilizing AliExpress that claims they offer a 90 day free return window if I am not happy with the tubes for any reason and a 24 month warranty at a reasonable price. Will I get refunded if the arrive defected??? I don’t trust Amazon shipping fragile tubes in bags, and their price is much more expensive. I look forward to your thoughts and response. In your reply to me you had said..."Since we ship directly from China, we are unable to offer a 90-day free return window. However, we can certainly provide you with a 24-month warranty." When I had purchased my first pair of the Acme 845's thru AliExpress, it is my understanding that they were sold by GD-Audio Parts store out of China. They were able to offer the 90 day free return window as well as a 24 month warranty. 1. I don't understand why you wouldn't be able to to do the same. *** It is my sincere hope that my next pair will not be defective, but if they are...*** 2. If I order directly from you and the tubes become defective within 24 months, can I return them for a full refund or is it just for a replacement pair? 3. How would I initiate a return? I just wanted to circle back to this thread with an update. I had ordered a matched pair of the Psavne Acme 845 tubes back in July thru GD-Audio Parts via AliExpress. They arrived packaged very well, they sounded absolutely fabulous in my amplifier with the exception of one of the tubes making a horrible noise. Alightronics suspected that one tube may have become damaged from the overseas shipping and suggested that I return them. Trying to return them via AliExpress was a very stressful experience for me, partly due to me being technologically challenged. However, they did accept my return and granted me a full refund. Due to the wonderful correspondence of Alightronics on this forum, I decided to place an order for another matched pair of the Acme 845's. They came and are playing absolutely beautifully in my amp and so far (fingers crossed) without any sense of defects. They play wonderfully dynamic, full bodied, holographic sound staging, and with great refinement. I appreciate the support Alightronics has provided on this forum and hope to see them come back as they are a true asset to us. Best wishes, Don |
