Protect DAC from shorting out from BT receiver

I was told by Schitt Audio not to connect a BT receiver-it might short it out.
Is there something I could get to protect the DAC from shorting?

I had my vintage Sansui 7070 repaired last month; the external fuse was fine, but two internal fuses were shorted out. My repair guy, a vintage variety himself, was also wary of digital imputs, like my iPhone or the BT receiver. What do you think is reason I got that warning from both Schitt Audio on their equipment, and from my repair guy?
