Processor Sound Quality Comparison?

I've seen lots of individual reviews comparing the technical features of the following two pieces, but I am interested to know how they directly compare in the area of sound quality for both ht & music. The two pieces are the classic Proceed AVP & the current Outlaw 990. Two different generations of technology. I know this is comparing apples to oranges for technical specs, but has anyone A/B'd them both for sound quality? I'd like to hear from someone that has heard them both if possible. Thanks.
