I had this in my system for a while using Audio Research electronics. Good midband (not great, the Harbeth Compact 7 is better), decent treble (slightly dry with a little hardness in the upper midrange) and deep but not very articulate bass. The bass was really the deal killer for me. For them too I suppose since they quickly came out with a D28 that moved the ports to the side rather than under the box where is excited the floor and generally boomed. I'd look elsewhere.
