Pro Logic IIx overlay onto 7.1 analog

with the blu-ray player doing the decoding.. if the disk is only in 5.1 surround... if you have a reciever or pre/pro with the Pro Logic IIx will it overlay the incoming 7.1 input? if it depends on the reciever or pre/pro.. which ones are able to do this?
