I would like to hear your comments and impressions once you have a chance to let it run in a week or so. I recently considered the CD31 as well. From the reviews I think you are going to be very impressed. A local dealer has a CD31 he has been trying to sell me.
Primare CD21 player
Have just ordered one, for the simple sake of wanderlust, as my Sony XA20ES has satisfied for years and years. I freely admit that looks played a role in the decision. Anything I should watch out for, for folks who know the player? I also found a review, where the following excerpt pretty much sold my analog-loving soul on it:
"Simpler arrangements are equally well handled albeit with a slight sense that the treble is a little smoother than usual, this makes discs that are a little brash or hard through the mid sound that much nicer without undermining detail retrieval.
Sometimes you get a slight sense of extra fullness in the upper bass with the CD21, an emphasis that brings out the best in instruments like double bass and drums. This could be a result of the smoothness in the treble as it's the high frequencies that bring definition to even the lowest notes."
