Preamp Signature Sound Comments/Comparisons

I am interested in four manufacturers:
Shindo (Monbrison, Allegro)
Modwright (LS36.5, LS100)
Joule-Electra (LA-150SE, LA-300ME)
Cary (SLP05)
I fully understand that these are at significantly different price points but the cost of a new Modwright or Cary is not that much different than some Shindo or Joule-Electra models on the used market.
I really want input on sound signature differences; model-to-model comparisons are, of course, welcome.
I will most likely be using a Solid State amplifier.
