Preamp Deal of the Century

If anyone is looking for a true "World Class" preamp at a very fair price..heed my advice. I just recieved a Supratek Syrah preamp that was hand built by Mick Maloney in Western Australia, and it is absolutely beautiful! This preamp is the best deal you will ever find. I would put it up against any preamp out there for both looks and sound. Price? $2500 for the Syrah (includes Killer Phono stage). Not into phono? Try the Chardonney line stage for $2100. Don't get me wrong, I am not associated with this company. I am just a very happy owner! This preamp is VERY dynamic, yet liquid. It conveys the sound of music better than any other preamp that I have ever heard! You can check out the Supratek website at www. cantech.net.au

The Cortese is just more resolving. The Cortese sounds better with stock tubes than the Syrah did with NOS tubes.
Any opinions on a CD player that works well with the Chardonnay in the 2-3 k range?
I’ve read positive reviews on both Lector and Rega products.
I am currently using the Ayre Cx7e which works well with the Chardonnay - clean and revealing sound. Looking into the Meridian G08 as an upgrade - very musical with a spacious soundstage. Hope this helps.
i'm a big fan of 47 labs gear with my chardonnay. i have a shigaraki transport and dac with a pure power batterly power supply. the transport and dac by themselves are excellent, but with the battery power, it's extraordinary.
I am using a Sony SCD-1 with VSEI mods. Sounds great, but still not the equal of my analog setup. I hope to send it in to upgrade the VSEI mods from level 2 to level 5+.
