Preamp Deal of the Century

If anyone is looking for a true "World Class" preamp at a very fair price..heed my advice. I just recieved a Supratek Syrah preamp that was hand built by Mick Maloney in Western Australia, and it is absolutely beautiful! This preamp is the best deal you will ever find. I would put it up against any preamp out there for both looks and sound. Price? $2500 for the Syrah (includes Killer Phono stage). Not into phono? Try the Chardonney line stage for $2100. Don't get me wrong, I am not associated with this company. I am just a very happy owner! This preamp is VERY dynamic, yet liquid. It conveys the sound of music better than any other preamp that I have ever heard! You can check out the Supratek website at www. cantech.net.au

Hey!Guys,

I'm in the market looking for a good pre-amp. & after thunbing through countless articles listed here. I still haven't found (Micks web-site),or any other info that I need to get in contact with him...
I need enough RCA outputs to connect (Two) Carver A-500X amps, & a Velodyne SPL#1200 Floor Sub.

Then I'll need a head phone jack insert terminal.
I'll also need enough input RCA jacks to run a CD/ Cassette player, an Oracle Delphi Mark V Turntable, A Magnum Dynalab Model #102 FM ~Tuner...

If anyone can hook my up with him, I'd appreciate this.
I enjoyed reading a bunch of these articles that you guys send out. Good job...
Thank You SLOWHAND,
Wow! what a web-site to behold. I'm excited now !! I can't wait to talk to Mick & see if there's a pre-amp out there for me.
Yea! Ray,
It seems as though Mick can help me out. I got on his web-site & checked all of his web-pages out & wow !! This sounds like the ticket for me. Here's what he had to say:

Mike
Can do 3 outputs and 3 inputs, including a phono built in, and tape in/out , which is effectively 4 inputs.
The headphone out jack is extra $50 which makes total of $2950 for Chenin preamp

Cheers

Hi! Mick,
Thanks for getting back to me so quick... I liked what I read & saw on your web-site. I need some time to round up the funds $$$$$ to pay you. I'm a fully~disabled railroad worker, & I live on a fixed income...

The four inputs & three outs should do the trick + I definatley will need the Head jack output too.

I shall get back to you in time. You have a very nice looking audio web-site, & I am very interested in obtaining one of these pre-amps.
(Question): would a piano black pre-amp, cost more than in the wood ???

Mike
Unfortunately the answer is yes- there's a lot of work in the piano black. It's extra $150.

Hi! Slowhand,
I've been reading these posts for a long time. I'm impressed with everyone's posts.

I've talked to Mick (just Recently)about ordering up a Chardonnay Tube Pre-amp & with all the equipment that I'm using, I'm going to need (5) inputs,(2) outputs,& a Tape monitor jack in the back side.

(Question): what type of speakers will go with Mick's Chardonnay Tube Pre-amp. I'm in the market for a good set of speakers. What do you use at home ?
I also have an Oracle Delphi Mark V Turntable, A Magnum Dynalab #102 FM Tuner & (2)Carver A-500X amps @270 watts a channel.Whew !!!
I could use some input from you guys,to replace my old Polk Audio Monitor 10's
Thanks, Mike
Well, After further review of reading your posts. I will be ordering up a Chenin, instead of the Chardonnay. I'm a total (two)~channel guy, that just loves vinyl L.p.'s.

I have a pristine collection of over two-thousand records of Jazz/Rock, & I guess I can part with my Jolida JD-9A Phono tube Pre-amp & buy the Chenin. I paid $350.00 for the Jolida last year (brand new) So I'll look at this as an upgrade of sorts. You guys should all work for Mick. Your sales pitches are very good !!!!

Slowhand, What A guy !!! Yes, My Polk Audio Monitor Ten's are out of date. They are around "20" years old. They are a four way floor speaker system, that has a one inch dome tweeter, (two) 5-1/2 Midranges, & a Ten-inch woofer...
They hang from Piano wire up in the corners of my Living room on a 30 degree tilt. It's like having a set of headphones on with out the feeling on your head.. Hmmmm!!!
