Maybe I missed something but the Progression is more than four times the cost of the McIntosh unit. If that is in your price range, then I would opt for the Progression. If not, there is certainly nothing wrong with the McIntosh. Whether the sound quality improvement is worth evicting 150 Uncle Ben's from you wallet is something only you can decide.
