uhm a coax can transmit up to 24bit, 192kHz PCM so unless you're listening to some left field sample rate. you're all good. Yes USB can transmit more data so higher sample rates than 192kHz(which is useless for playback imo as even most studios record in maximum 192kHz) all the way to DSD is more viable with USB @nankaroad
Pre/Pro Units with USB Inputs? And Coax vs. USB?
Hey everyone…sorry if this is a noob question!
I just bought an Aurender N200 and planned to connect it to my MacIntosh MX100 via a coax cable. That’ll work…the Aurender has a coax out and the MX100 has a coax in.
But I just read that a coax cable cannot transmit the same level of frequencies as a USB cable can.
Couple of quick questions:
1. Does using the coax mean I will not be getting the full capabilities or range of music from Qobuz?
2. Are there good, “higher end” pre/pro units with USB inputs? Haven’t seen any yet but have not done an exhaustive search as of yet.
Was sort of wondering what most people plug the Aurender into with a USB cable?
I’m very appreciative of any insights you may be able to offer me!
Many thanks!
