I just answer another related thread on this. The electricity supply in my area is 220 - 230V and I have purchased and used a number of power cords from US with no problem. The only thing you need to concern yourself is that your property insurance company in the foreign country outside US may deem it as some sort of non-standard wiring. I sometimes see the dealers in my area marking cables from US as "For Export Only" to avoid possible legal infringement issue. Can't say if this will apply to your country as well.
