Playing Digital Files
I have done some tests. I have Bill Frisel's Unspeakable as ripped CD 44.1 wav files, on one of my HDDs, on my NVME SSD and on a RAM Disk I created in my DDR4 RAM. All three just go to my DAC, then my system.
The RAM Disk is wonderful. I can't stop listening. The SSD is wonderful too, but not up to the RAM Disk and I can't listen to my HDD any more. Just playing the CD is completely out, not that I have a high end transport. I suspect my $35 DVD burner is much more useful now, as it rips very well indeed.
