Peter Lederman in Second Bout With COVID-19

I saw on Facebook late last night that Mike Fremer told one of his Audio Friends that he heard from Peter Lederman of Soundsmith that he is suffering his second round with COVID.  Peter said he has blood clots on his lungs. That is all the post said.  Here is hoping that Peter pulls through with a full recovery.

Any relatively healthy person under the age of 65 who got the shot (s) is a lunatic.
Now before you all attack me, I just want to say that I'm sure this thing was more than just a flu. I'm sure it was a very nasty flu to some people. I know people that got it and only had a runny nose. I also know people that tested positive for it in blood work and had no clue.

What bothers me is the gross overreaction the entire world had over this thing.

The population of the United States makes up 4% of the global population. The SUPPOSED Covid deaths in the United States made up 20% of all global deaths.
How does a nation that accounts for only 4% of the global population also have 20% of all worldwide covid deaths? Because everything that happens in an election year happens because of the election, that's why. (I can't imagine that sentence going over well with this crowd).

We stopped the world from spinning for this thing. You figure there would be way more deaths than what actually were.
I am in no way minimizing the hurt and pain people have for the loss of their loved ones. I'm just saying our solution to the problem was worse than the problem itself.

When you look at the economic impact. How many businesses will never open again? The drug abuse, the alcohol abuse, the domestic violence, the suicide etc.

Gross overreaction to a fake pandemic.
@herman

Population of Brazil...211 million.Covid deaths...500,000

Population of India... 1 Billion.
Covid deaths...400,000

As I was saying...
@mahgister  if you read my original post, it was the gross over reaction that I was unhappy with. I never said it wasn't a real disease.
Also, I do not watch tv nor get my news from it.
Please get your facts straight before you feel the need to try to insult me.
@dionisofun  you don't have to call me a genius for stating the obvious, but thank you.
@mahgister  Believe it or not, I agree with a lot of what you say.

And also your last post.

Best wishes to Peter.
@ghasley  you bring up a good point about people in America being mobile. I understand the logic. Also, the United States ranks third amongst most visited countries in the world.

However your stereotypical assumptions on the characteristics of a certain type of voter are extraordinarily narrow-minded and ignorant. Typical of your side of the aisle.
@herman  sorry, I didn't read your post until just now.
I thought I was pretty clear in my previous posts.

On average, the flu kills between 300 and 500,000 people worldwide every year.
Covid deaths worldwide is 3 million.

Again, I'm not minimizing any loss of life I'm just going by the numbers and some common sense. Humans stopped the Earth from spinning for something that has killed 3 million people when the flu kills between 300 and 500,000 people every single year..

Worldwide cardiovascular disease deaths every year...18 million.
Worldwide obesity deaths every year...2 million.
Worldwide tobacco deaths every year...7 million.
@golfmd2 well it appears that the saying, "Facts to a liberal are like a crucifix to a vampire", applies to you as well.

With covid apparently killing 0.2% of the people who get it in the United States, surely your ICU must have been inundated. Maybe your hospital was concerned about getting tens of thousands of dollars in false covid diagnoses per patient?

What the hell you talking about man? I'm not a socialist, American hating liberal. Don't call me your comrade, even if you are being sarcastic.
@herman the election was over. That’s why the numbers were dropping. Also, the heart disease, obesity and tobacco use are personal choices like you said. That was exactly my point. They’re all preventable. And it happens every year. And no one talks about it. In fact more highly processed, sugary foods are put out into the market.

@flevick do you need a safe space?

@perkri socialism? You’re seriously defending socialism? Socialism is a lie. It doesn’t work. Just like the left, it’s about emotions and good intentions. Why do people try to leave socialist countries by the millions every year by coming to America? Seriously, how old are you? You sound like you're in the 18 - 25 bracket where you've been indoctrinated by liberal schools to hate America because that's exactly what people in that age group feel. Who the hell defends socialism? If you like it so much go to one of those socialist countries.

Just remember sheeple: there was no animal testing. YOU ARE the animal testing. Don’t forget to get your booster shots every 6 months like obedient little sheeple and hopefully those of younger age especially girls have healthy enough reproductive organs to have children without birth defects or if they can even have any children at all after this thing.
There was no long-term testing on this "vaccine". This is an experimental drug and no one has a clue as to how it’s going to affect people a year from now, 5 years from now, 10 years from now.

We are basically getting handed something that, on paper, may seem safe.
Thalidomide seemed safe on paper as well. Google, "Thalidomide babies" to see what happened to babies after pregnant women took it. Babies born with severe heart defects, severe birth defects, no arms or legs, no appendages. The lucky ones died at birth. I’m sure the virologists working on vaccines for the pharmaceutical companies had good intentions with it.

Best of luck to anyone who took the vaccine. Personally, I’ll lick a coronavirus infested doorknob before I get stuck with that poison that’s going to alter my DNA. No thank you.

Knock wood, I don’t know anyone who has passed from covid. However, I do know people that have died within 3 months of getting the vaccine. I know people including my 30-year-old ex-girlfriend who was very healthy up until the vaccine. Now, she is in and out of the hospital for weeks with heart problems.

Nice jab, ghasley with the, "for better or worse." And likewise. If you want to take the vaccine then take it. But don’t fault me for not taking it.

What happens with the delta variant? Or the lambda variant? Or the epsilon variant now? If the original coronavirus shot won’t be effective towards these variants, then what is everyone going to do? Is everyone just going to get some sort of booster or an altogether new vaccine every 6 months? Every 12 months? Are people going turn into walking Petri dishes?

When does it end?

Here’s a thought...please enlighten me if I’m wrong which this crowd would take much enjoyment from, but...

Are the variants happening because of the vaccine? Because people are vaccinated, is the virus mutating and turning into a variant because of the vaccinated people? Would it not have been better if no one ever got vaccinated and we just let herd immunity kick in?

I know I’m not liked amongst the readers of this thread and I’m fine with that. But I have major reservations about this supposed vaccine and, as I’ve said before, I believe that our reaction to this was worse than the problem itself.

Two things:

1) It seems people comment to change the subject to Peter every time I list my thoughts but when other people list theirs, apparently okay to keep going.

2) So apparently Peter is out of the hospital. That's fantastic news! So happy that Peter is back on his feet and doing well. Congratulations Peter.

So that's twice that you have went toe to toe with covid and kicked its ass. Congratulations!
Ah, leave it to this crowd for the ad hominems. You’re all very good at it. Not tolerant of anyone else’s opinion that differs from yours, which is typical.

I’ll say it again, for the umpteenth time, our reaction to covid was far worse than the virus itself. The body count simply isn’t there to JUSTIFY THE LOCKDOWN. How many businesses will never open again? How many foreclosures on mortgages? How much drug abuse? Alcohol abuse? Domestic violence? Suicide?

A gross over reaction to a bad flu. At what price?
@theophile  Thank you for the kind words.
Unbelievable.

This group has had contempt for my difference of opinions since day one but no one has actually wished death upon me.
I wish you and your loved ones good health, happiness and good fortune in life.

I actually would like to thank you for giving me reason not to follow this thread any longer. I'm not going to start my day with someone wishing for my demise first thing in the morning.  It's simply not worth it.

At the onset, I was hoping that I could exchange my opinions and hear a difference of opinion from other people and each side could see this issue from a different angle.
It certainly hasn't turned out that way.

With that, I'm out.
