My personal speaker evolution is as follows:

Von Schweikert DB-99's and then DONE!!

Yes I am very proud that I simply went from absolutly crap speakers (RCA inherited crap speakers) to the 99's. I wanted to avoid the upgrade loose money path so I went for the all or nothing aproach. I am very sure I saved money in the long run.

A little JCPenny's bookshelf system to Sony SSU-1250s (I think...around 1978) to Polk RTA 12s to Thiel CS2s to Thiel CS 3.6s. Dunlavy 4s possible next or Thiel CS 6s or 7.2s.
