Personal speaker evolution

OK, so here is a thread I haven't ever seen here: What speakers have you owned? starting with the earliest, price paid, new/used, and perhaps the models that really impressed you (for the price) in CAPS.

Rat Shack Something or others, $120, new
Fisher Something or others, $280, new
ADS L710's, $550, new
Snell A2i's, $1100, used
BEVERIDGE SYSTEM 3'S, $1000, used

Great thread....

Kef C-40s(1985)(music not yet a hobby, plus never home; currently in my basement, along w/Yamaha processor of the same era), then Def Tech Towers(1997)(still watching mostly movies), then Legacy Focus(2000) (starting to listen to 2-channel music with amp and preamp(Adcom)), then Legacy FOcus 20/20(2003) (getting a little more serious; now are the rears in my 2-channel/movie setup), then Legacy Whispers(2005) (2 channel system upgraded drastically once I got these - listening critically at this point - system has quickly outgrown the speakers); FINALLY - Von Schweickert VR-7SE's (due in a few days). Don't imagine I'll be "upgrading" these anytime soon.....

As the song goes, what a LONG, strange trip its been.........dates are approximate. Have also upgraded through 3 Velodyne subs(for movies), now with DD-15.
4-year-old VSA VR-7s have been upgraded in the past 6 months to "Mk 2" status, meaning new bypass caps on the crossovers, totally new Delphi internal wiring and new high-performance mid-ranges. The urge for new speakers (to match my new VAC Statement 450 monos)has come and gone, as what I have got a whole lot better. Also, now up to Velo DD-15+.

Recently added an office system driven by SET Melody 845. Using Angel City Audio's Trinity speakers with upgraded crossovers. Imaging is just ridiculous - approaching and exceeding "jaw-dropping" at times. Amazing below-the-radar speaker due to minimal advertising. Betters speakers 5x its price, which is very reasonable.
Updated:

Legacy Focus 20/20 (4 yrs)
Legacy Whisper (4 yrs)
VSA VR-7SE Mk2 (4 yrs)
VSA VR-9SE Mk2 (0 minutes; currently for sale new in crates)

Focal Grand Utopia EM (2+ months - ?) DONE!

All were great speakers for my system at the time I owned them. Never took the VR-9's out of their crates - disagreement w/mfr over broken promises, etc.(currently for sale at great price on Agon)

Current Utopias are way beyond anything I ever even dreamed about when I started this hobby years ago. I've been very fortunate to know many excellent manufacturers and great audio friends over the years from all over the world.
CTS- If you're talking to me, THANKS - I appreciate it. You have a very nice system - I'm jealous of the analog... :-)
