artemus_5 ... My last post wasn’t removed, but it was highly edited. By whom, I haven’t a clue. They did a nice job of it though. *lol* I can’t say that I blame them for the editing, as it was quite heated. No doubt it would have offended the sensibilities of the man-bun crowd who believe that the most appropriate place for a ring these days is through a nostril. Yes, you’re right ... it is too bad that PPT Total Contact is no more. It really was an amazing product. For those of us who were able to experience it, we are truly grateful. It was a product that really opened up the sound space and improved the natural tonality of instruments. Just like I said with these little dinky Audioengine A2+ speakers residing beside my desktop. My Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin downloaded podcasts never sounded so natural. It’s like these fellas are in the room. :-) Frank |
^^^ - Yikes! What the ding dong?!
What???... I thought you enjoyed humor. Frank |
If anyone is interested, there's a PPT Gate for sale here on the "Gon." Yes, it is expensive, but what it does for an audio and/or video system is amazing.
And no, Geoff ... I'm not shilling. :-)
Frank |
- Weren’t the mats mostly shungite?
Nope. |
Tim told me on many occasions that he was divinely inspired. So, my guess is that if one wants to know the secrets, one has to be in that special place.
Frank |
^^^ Not only would they not understand, Miller ... they wouldn't believe it even if you told them.
By the way, as one of the few who really does understand, I know you'll understand when I say ... Holy Cats, my system is sounding insanely amazing.

Truth serums? Pacific Northwest? Naw, that's what they're doing in Los Angeles to determine if you've been surfing alone.
Frank |
Tom ... You're lucky you live where you do. The mayor of Los Angeles was proud to announce that the city officials will "HUNT DOWN" those who violate his edict to stay indoors. Where you live, they hunt deer. Here in the greater Los Angeles area, they hunt humans.
There are totalitarians in our midst.

Sorry for the rants. Getting stir crazy being locked down for over a month. Feels good to rant a little bit. Now, I think I'll put on some Santana and turn the volume up to LOUD.

"Hunt down" violators? Use Chinese drones to monitor citizen movement? Arrest a lone surfer in Malibu? Snitch on your neighbors?
Welcome to Los Angeles The City of The Damned.
I’m moving to Kentucky.

- One year in a trailer park with $75 rent living on 5-pound blocks of cheese.
Was that Gumment cheese? And hey, If you had that virtual happy hour with social distancing outside where I live, you'd be facing the Sheriff's SWAT team. If they can do it to a lone surfer, just think how they would come down on your "criminal" activity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- t_ramey ...
The "experts" of the 30s and 40s brought the incinerators to bear. Here, they are only destroying a great economy. Twenty-two million new applications for unemployment compensation, and it won't stop there. Some are suggesting that the Communist Chinese Virus shut-down should last until after the next election. Hmm, I wonder why? Frank |
My brother is a retired California Highway Patrolman ... now residing in Tennessee. He tells me that his retirement pension goes about 30% further there than in the People's Republic of California. He tells me that he's amazed that there aren't more Communist Chinese Virus victims in Tennessee considering how many people smoke cigarettes there.
Gotta watch them-thar gull-danged religious revivals. They're pandemic.
Frank |
- "And when their done smoking down to the butt end they throw them to the curb ..."
Yep, one of my brother’s main complaints about Tennessee is that there are cigarette butts everywhere. Just a normal way of life down there in Tennessee land. Here in Southern Califonia, we are way more sophisticated than that. We've made hit and run a blood sport. Frank |
artemus_5 ...
You can be assured that there are MSNBC and CNN fans galore here. They're still repeating the fake news mantra about Clorox injections. Isn't it amazing that such intelligent folks can be such dupes? Hey, they're still in denial that after-market fuses are a worthwhile upgrade. Such silliness. Appalling, really. Frank |
Why the second thoughts?? |
artemus_5 ...
Please feel free to PM me anytime. I agree A'gon is not the place for politics. I find it hard, however, to sit still and just accept the constant snide remarks bashing OUR president. Four years of the constant berating and the total BS is way over the top, and I feel the compulsion to counter it. These guys aren't as clever as they think they are. Take care ... Frank |
artemus_5 ... Thanks for your 7:39 am posting. Of course, it doesn’t occur to them, because no one living within the bubble they surround themselves with voted for the guy. Therefore, they don’t consider that their comments can be offensive because "everyone else thinks exactly like them." Gimme a freakin’ break. On the bright side, and in the spirit of this thread, I still have a couple of tubes of Total Contact left. I took my little Audioengine A2+ speakers apart the other day and applied TC to the interior, including the metal parts of the speakers. All I can say is, wow. How can a three-inch driver and a one-inch tweeter sound this good with nothing but a desktop PC running the whole shebang? I’m listening to the great tenor-man Charlie Ventura via Spotify as I’m typing this. I’m hearing a full-throated tenor sax right in the middle of a nice sound stage. I’m wondering where the subwoofer came from. Take a listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RVVZThj19c Frank |
Yeah, totally, like totally accurate. I mean, like totally. LMAO

Dear Mods ...
Here are the guidelines:
Content may be removed for one or more of these reasons: - It looked like spam
- It was abusive towards another member
- It depicts explicit and/or violent content
- It contains profanity
So, considering the above, exactly which guideline did my last post violate? Did another member complain about it because it offended their sensibilities, or went against their world views? I would really like to know. Frank |
^^^ Thanks, Glupson ...
I agree that the Mods have the right to remove any post they want to. No problem there. However, a link to a radio show is hardly the end of the world.
Frank |
I'm not whining. I'm just curious about what triggers deletions. There were three deletions, none of which were offensive to me. Just links to comedy and alternate information.
Frank |
ghasley ...
Attack the messenger instead of the message much? Did you read the article? Frank |
^^^ How would you explain a pants suit? Shouldn't it be a suit pants? |
I can explaine it Geoff ...
TuTu's are what "tu" consenting adults do. OneOne's are what pubescent boys do. |
- You can explain it. You just can’t spell it. I have a funny feeling you can explain adult diapers, too.
Of course, I can explain adult diapers, Geoff ... Adult diapers are those devices I keep in reserve just on the remote chance that any of the members (like you) who ever called me a "shill" regarding various tweaks I've discovered and shared enthusiastically on A'gon ever stopped by to hear my system. No listening allowed, 'till a triple layer is donned to avoid carpet and ceiling stains. :-) Frank |
mapman ... Of course one could listen to a system and drop dead in awe but to attribute that solely to the tweaks would still require a huge leap of faith
If you heard my system, you’d think that you had walked into an old-time Billy Graham revival tent. You’d be a convert in no time at all. Repent, anti-tweakers ... Repent! *lol* Frank |
mapman ...
Agreed. It is necessary to start with a good baseline. In my case, an ARC Reference amp, an ARC Reference preamp, and an ARC PH-8 phono stage. Once nirvana has been attained through tweaking, only then can one really appreciate the genius that went into the design of the equipment, no matter the brand being used. Without all of the tweaks added to the system, including, but not limited to, the PPT products, I thought it was a good system ... and it should have been based on the dollars spent. After all of the various tweaks were installed and applied ... well, as you know, everything is an accumulation in an audio system. When it all comes together correctly, the realism is astounding. Frank |
akwilson501 ... Sorry to say, Total Contact is now history. The sole owner of PPT, Tim Mrock, passed away a couple of months ago and the formula evidently died with him. As far as I know, no one has the formula for TC as it was never written down. The website has been shut down and the whole kit and kaboodle is now controlled by the heirs to the estate. Too bad, because the products being produced by PPT were redefining the audio hobby. Frank |
