Perfect Path Tecnologies ‘The Gate’

Having been a music lover and audio enthusiast for more decades than I care to admit to I’ve had the privilege of owning some tremendous components over those years and thought I had attained a level of musical enjoyment that would be difficult to improve upon without spending more money than I could afford. Then along came The Gate to turn my audio conceptions on end.

While I was quite skeptical of all of the positive proclamations regarding the Perfect Path mats, cards and contact enhancer ( how could they possibly bring about such sonic improvements?) I took the plunge and purchased a nano bundle to see what the hubbub was all about. Much to my surprise they not only brought about improvements to my systems’ ability to recreate a more musical sound but did so in spades.

When Tim of Perfect Path Technologies asked if I wanted to try his new product, The Gate, I jumped at the chance thinking it would be a nice addition to what the other products provided. I wasn’t prepared for the quantum leap The Gate brought to my music listening pleasure. As much as the other products brought about a much lower noise floor, greater detail and delicacy, improved dynamics, richer tone and more realism The Gate does so in magnitudes difficult to describe. The best way I can describe its affect is unreal purity leading the most realistic musical sound I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.....outside of a live performance obviously. It has me listening to all of my CD’s as if for the first time again.

I have no idea how The Gate actually works or what it does I just know it’s the most dramatic tweak to my system I’ve ever experienced and I wouldn’t think of being without it. As to how it’s implemented, it’s installed in the electrical panel with one lead connected to the common buss and the other to a breaker ( preferably 220). Hope I got the terminology correct.....I’m far from being an electrician!

At $4,999.00 it’s not cheap but worth every penny to me as I’ve spent more on components with less sonic improvement.

Lastly, I realize some will scoff at something they can’t understand and I get not understanding it as I don’t, but I would hope people could keep their skepticism healthy and civil. I am not here to promote or sell, nor do I have any affiliation with PPT. I am only sharing something that I’ve found to be transforming in my system. Sorry for the lengthy introduction.

Good to know on the power conditioner as Tim did hint that I would likely be able to take it out of the system entirely.

My thoughts exactly on making a high quality power distribution box, I can use the existing CPT power cord from my Equicore.

Fun times ahead.

Not really my type of music, closest that would contain those type of instruments would be say Santana.

Vocals, especially female vocals are scary good.

Example, last night listening to Norah Jones.

The scene it conjured for me.

An old Vegas style lounge, smoky, intimate.
Norah on the small stage backed by a stand up double bass, three piece drum kit and piano.
Myself sitting at a table closest to Norah .

I can "feel" the swish of brush on drum skin, almost see the bass strings vibrate. She is looking at me and performing just for me.

I mentioned extra bass earlier, what I truly mean is extra bass weight, and definite separation of instruments.
I am now able to "hear" bass runs and licks that were obviously there in the mix previously but did not stand out.
Now I do not mean stand out as overpowering but as subtle but sure instruments in their own right not just as some congealed mass of music.

Its going to be a GREAT week!

I so nearly bought a lake house while there, glad I did not as it dried up! Gatorbone Lake, not sure if the lakes have come back, been years since been through Keystone.

Lalitk.

I was/am using Core Power Tech Equicore 1800.

Tim feels it is likely to be surplus now though.
I will test at a later date with equipment just plugged into a couple of power strips and the Equicore out of the system.
Well I have tingles running up and down my spine.

Norah Jones is in my room singing just for me personally!

And this on " obsolete tech" , a CD ... Lol.

Less than a day and it is majestic.

If anybody is on the fence on this just do it!

Glad I spoke to Mac, David and Tim about it .

Join " The Gaters", you know you want to!

👍👍
Small world yet again ... Lol.
Used to live in Keystone Heights, then Middleburg( off Black Creek), then to Fleming Island which is as close to Jax as I wish to get!
I believe Tim probably cannot give too much in the way of explanation without giving the game away.

Yes the price is high but with a 90 day inhome trial its hard to go wrong.

And honestly with what I heard just a few hours in, it is by far and way the largest single upgrade I have ever heard.

Yes it was worth the kidney.
Spleen and gall bladder up next.

Interesting about Clay County Carpathian, where do you live? We are served by Clay Electric as well.
Holy sugar......

I am sorry but this is not remotely a subtle change!

It has only been installed 4 hours but I thought I would spin some vinyl.

First test, ear against speaker, hmm sounds quiter....

Next test play a well known album.

WTH!

Who added the subs?

And new speakers with vastly more dynamics especially in the upper mids.
Truly astounding, way more effect than tc or emats, not that they were not impressive on their own right but this...

Just 4 hours in and I have a new system!
The Gate is in the system as at 9.35am EST 4/21.
Connected to 220v house AC breaker, I did ask Tim if it mattered which breaker as I thought the house AC might be noisy but he said it did not matter at all.

Just managed to squeeze it into my old Cutler box under the cover, going to have to replace this old thing one day I am sure.

Now we shall see.....
I sure do NOT intend to be " knocking on heavens door".

I think I got this......

Yes we have Frank... Lol.

Really looking forward to installing the Gate next week.

Will update once in play.
Carpathian.

Gators correct, a whopping 40 miles from myself.... Do not go to Gainesville on game day!

That's why I suggested The Gaters.

Subtle difference I admit but still.....
And now to return to our scheduled programming.
We need a name for this elite group.

How about The Gaters?
We had The Fusers so sounds good to me.

As a fyi, I ordered mine direct from Tim yesterday morning so will soon see what all the fuss is about. 90 day return policy so it's hard to go wrong in truth.
Aw shucks thanks Geoff!
I can really FEEL the heartfelt concern in your post there.
You know it's really getting me right THERE, you know.
In fact I can feel the tears welling up as I type!
Oh wait,hold on....
Sorry my bad, it was just my pants on backwards again .......
Is it possible that the “noise floor” has been swallowed by a black hole Geoff?
Frank
Careful with "The Brits" talk... lol. You never know who is reading!
It really was not like that at all in England ,at least in my area ,but I was out in the stix.
Shoot,  an electrical colleague wired his main supply up to run his electricity meter backwards for half the quarterly charge period!

Yes he did eventually get caught!

However I did escape here back in 2000 and have no intention of leaving unless Uncle Sam finds me and throws me out.... lmfao.
Being an industrial electrician dealing with mostly lethal high voltage lines of 480v I might know a thing or two about being careful concerning electrickery.

I would likely agree that the largest hurdle here would be persuading a reputable outside electrician in a state that is very code conscious that it is "ok" to wire this into the main panel without a bit more than your say so that it is fine.

Best approach would be just do it yourself paying due diligence to your own health and safety.

As I obviously would do this in a heartbeat I am not at all concerned but can concede the point.

Would not be the first time I had been presented with a piece of equipment on site with zero paperwork or electrical prints and been asked to "just wire it in"

Uh uh, no way Jose!

However we are talking 480v and 1200a plus applications, something that will pick you up and throw the leftovers across the room if you screw up!
Frank

I Will be over shortly to relieve you of the stress those components are causing you.

Can you have them all boxed up ready to go please.....

😁😁😁😁
Erik
I hear you.
But don't you think you should at least discuss your concerns with its creator Tim?
Rather than just blanket diss of it without knowing if your concerns/questions already have answers?
Erik

Please do not go down the same path another long standing member did and end up out of sorts over it.

Yes some of the claims seem over the top for sure but I am using emats, ecards and TC ( along with SR Blue fuses and duplex) and these all work extremely well to lower the noise floor and open up the music in my system.

With a money back guarantee ( except the TC) what do you have to lose by trying any of Tims products.

No affiliation at all, just one happy customer.
While I agree 5k is a lot of money for what some may consider a tweak, compared to some other upgrades it is not astronomical.
Indeed I figure we have some here who have already spent way more on ecards, emats, fuses etc in pursuit of excellence.

The way I see it right now is you are likely to consider The Gate if you already have a good resolving system that you are pretty happy with the flavour and balance of overall , and just looking to maximise its impact and strengths.

With that being said I am unlikely to dive in head first but will wait and see a few more positive reviews.

Yes I know there is a 90 day returns policy which is very generous and tells me a lot about both Tim's nature AND his confidence in this product.
Question for those who have the Gate already and Tim.

If one already has a top flight power conditioner is the Gate still likely to give the same improvement.

Additionally is the same top flight power conditioner even required if one installs the Gate?

Thank you.
