I saw this program on PBS when it first came out, and agree that this was a fantastic experience. After watching it, I sprang for the two-cd set of his music and this too is also surprisingly good!
Pavlo...Live In Santorini (on PBS)
I must confess that I've never heard of this guy or most of the musicians he had with him.
I don't usually watch this sort of program or listen to this kind of music, but there was absolutely nothing on TV. It takes place in Santorini, which is one of my favorite places in the world, so I thought what the hell.
What a WONDERFUL surprise! The music was excellent and man oh man can these dudes play!! I ended up watching the whole show and immediately went to Qobuz to favorite a few of his albums.
I highly recommend this show! If you get a chance to see it, please do.
