You can go to the avs forums and read hundreds of posts on the topic. Basically, it's still in the oven and there is a reason it hasn't been released to the general public, but typical oppo quality. Analog sound quality appears similar to the 83.

You might also consider waiting for the 95, which looks like it might be something.

Well, I received mine, but I'm not going to be able to offer too much useful information, since I haven't hooked it up to my HT system yet -- I'm waiting to get a new receiver or pre/pro, and then set everything up all at once. In the meantime, I've got it hooked up to my office 2-channel system (analog out to Rotel separates to Meadowlark Kestrel HR speakers). It sounds great, but I think it's still breaking in, and I haven't A/B'd it against anything else. The build quality appears to be top notch, from what you can see on the outside. They package it nicely, as well.
