Opinions on Sota Comet TT W/Dynavector 10x5

I am trying to decide on a TT and was curious as how does the Sota Comet tt with the Dynavector 10x5 compare with the Rega P3-24 with the same cartridge or the Pro-ject RM5-SE with the Sumiko BP2?. There is no dealers in my area for the Sota and i was intrigued by the latest review in TAS. I use to own the Pro-ject RM5 but, sold it over a year ago for financial reasons. The new pro-ject seems to be a good value but, for a few hundred more is the Rega and Sota that much better? Opinions appreciated. Thanks

Brian,
I agree with Adam, don't stress out over your choices, you seem to be looking at good gear regardless of what you end up choosing. I recently when through the same research you are and finally landed with a Sota Star (vacuum platter) and a Rega RB300 arm with a Dynavector 10X4 MkII cart. My albums, some of them as much as 40 years old, have never sounded so good. So my totally subjective opinion would be the Sota table with a Rega arm and a Dyna cartridge. If you buy a new Sota table, they will be happy to mount and adjust your arm and cart to the correct arm board. Good Luck!
Hi Brian,............I recently went through all the same "decision-making stuff" that you're now grappling with, and I am extremely happy with my purchase. After comparing the Sota Comet with the Rega P3-24, looking at the Dyna 10x5, Ortofon 2M Black, Benz Micro ACE S,and Rega Exact 2, I chose the P3-24/Exact 2 combination. I did all my "comparison shopping" via internet research (Audiogon and other forums), magazine reviews, and countless phone calls to many very patient dealers, as I, too, do not have any local dealers where I was able to compare the tables in person.

My new Rega P3-24/Exact 2 front end sounds absolutely wonderful in my system, in my room, with my ears.....and I have zero regrets about my purchase. I know what you're going through, as these decisions are not easy. BUT, remember, keep it all in proper perspective, and, once you buy your new table, just sit back and enjoy your albums. I'm sure that both the Rega P3-24 and Sota Comet will sound great with your system. For me, the idea of Rega synergy.....Rega cartridge with Rega arm with Rega table makes a lot of sense. Do not stress out.....Good Luck, and Happy Listening !!
