Old Dj needing to convert to digital media

After Djing through two format changes it looks like I must go kicking and screaming once again into another format. I used the Djing to support my audiophile addiction. I would like to move to a lossless format that I can use both at home and on the road for a gig. Should I go the PC route and if so with what program or go the ipod route and digital media mixer. I hope there are others on this board that have faced this and can give me some options. Thanks in advance.
