Okay, the gloves are off. Let the fur fly

I would like to hear one single cogent technically accurate explanation of how a multi-way box speaker can be more musically accurate than single drivers or stats. As a speaker designer for more than 25 years, I have yet to hear an argument that holds water, technically. The usual response involves bass or treble extension, as if that is the overriding principle in music reproduction. My position is that any information lost or jumbled in the complex signal path of multi-way box speakers can never be recovered by prodigious bass response, supersonic treble extension, or copious numbers of various drivers. Louder, yes. Deeper, yes. Higher, maybe. More pleasing to certain people, yes. But, more musically revealing and accurate,no. I posted this because I know that it will surely elicit numerous defensive emotional responses. I am prepared to suffer slings and arrows from many directions. But, my question still remains. Can you technically justify your position with facts?

if you need more info on all the full range drivers like BABB MANGER ...cadizcustomsound.com...very knowledgable and friendly
the manger full range requires a special amp like the electrostats...and i ain't about to give up my jadis...i'm back to a 3 way conventional cone design..full range are not for me
I wouldn't even try to justify what I liked-I, like many responding to you, simply trust my ears. I once heard a wag say-never ask an engineers for actual explanations; they might oblige. Who cares if it is single driver, coaxial, multi-driver, or a pair of wired-for-stereo Mattel Close-and-play sets; if it works for you, you are happy with it, then stop worrying-put the dust cover back on, put the manual back in the box, and enjoy!
actung...that's easy to say..however the many speakers i've heard on the commercial lines have way too many weaknesses for me to enjoy the music..its what we call fatiguing..my friend has a big popular 3 way bipolar and the sound is flat and compressed..sorry i can't sit and enjoy a rough sound...maybe his amp has something to do with the problem..i have the feeling that the speaker kit companies sales figures are going to take a big jump
