Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?

Hi,

I'd love to hear the impressions of people who've actually spent some time with these speakers to share their sense of their plusses and minuses. Mapman here on Audiogon is a big fan, and has shared lots on them, but I'm wondering who else might be familiar with them.

Jaybo is correct. I've had the micro's and moved to the 100's when I had a room change. The signature is the same just more bass and they play a bit louder from what John has told me (I don't really crank my tunes).
Marcus,

I think while the imaging is excellent on the ohm speakers, you will never get the same precision you'll find in a traditional dynamic speaker. Likewise, while you can find great imaging in a dynamic speaker, you'll never find the same openness and wide sweet spot the Ohms give you in a traditional speaker. Every design has trade-offs and as you've said the room is key. Like you also said it would be great to have more than one speaker to listen to! I plan on adding another setup with a traditional speaker but I don't see myself getting rid of the Ohms to do this. Enjoy the RS6's! I've heard good things about them :)
Martykl great updates! I too use dual subs with my 100s and the results are fantastic. I am using separates and added some of ACI's passive filters to take out low bass from the mains. This opened them up even more.
Thanks Rebbi,

That is exactly where I ended up with mine (for the back wall). If anyone has the space, I strongly recommend using some acoustic treatments. I just finished getting the last pieces together and the difference combined with dialing in my placement was the best upgrade yet :)

I ended up going with GIK. Great guys, lots of options, and great prices too.
In my experience, I've driven the Ohms with a wide range of electronics:

An Onkyo HT Receiver (lower end @ about 80 wpc)
100 wpc Monoblocks
250 wpc stereo amp

All have driven the Ohms with no problems. But I don't listen at very loud levels (max is usually around 80-85bd sessions)
