Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?

Hi,

I'd love to hear the impressions of people who've actually spent some time with these speakers to share their sense of their plusses and minuses. Mapman here on Audiogon is a big fan, and has shared lots on them, but I'm wondering who else might be familiar with them.

This seems to be the de facto Ohm thread, so I hope a non-OWT question is okay. I'm getting ready to upgrade my Walsh 2s to 2.2. Does anyone have a recommended wattage to drive the 2.2/2000? The Ohm website is kind of vague on this. Thanks.

Thanks for the info gents. I kind of suspected that even the new ones were going to be rather hungry. I'll probably end up pairing the 2.2 w/ a nice big vintage receiver (i.e., Sansui G series or Marantz 2300 line).
My upgrade kit came this week, so -- after getting physical with a couple of glued in crossover boards -- I now have Walsh 2.2000s. My question is, can someone who owns something from the 1000s line give me a ballpark figure for how many hours in took to fully break these guys in?
Thanks for the responses. I've already called John w/ questions & he's been very helpful. I've got them in a spare room hooked up to a radio, so I can run them 10 hours or so per day. Unfortunately, even though its a spare room, I can't really crank them up too much.

Bondman,
Thanks for the info. And you'll be happy to know I ended up taking your & Map's advise and dumped the vintage Kenwood for powering the 2.2000s and replaced it with a Valve Audio Predator -- which made a huge difference.
Wow! Tonight (after running them as much as I could for over a month) it finally happened -- my 2.2000's totally blossomed. I had a Cal Tjader cd on and the decay on his vibes seemed to just float on and on into the room. Just fantastic.

With regards to amps, I tried a couple of different things w/ my 2.2000's and finally arrived at a Valve Audio Predator, which I heartily recommend as a good match for Ohms. The Predators aren't all that easy to find, but they are at least reasonably priced (I picked up mine used for about $1200.
