north star m192 mk1 compared to mk2?

Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the north star m192 mk1 to the mk2? I have, and like, the mk2. But I believe the mk2 uses opamps for the output stage, whereas the mk1 used discrete. I would appreciate any information.
