John Fahey - Christmas Guitar vol 1& 2
Non-Standard Christmas/Holiday Music I like, ..and yours?
Yes, there is no denying Nat Cole, Bing Crosby and many other well know and well loved Christmas/Holiday songs/albums. And with that said, are there any Christmas/Holiday albums/CD/SACD/etc. that you feel are part of the season for you and yours?
Mine would be from Tuck Andress, Anne Murray (yes..Anne Murray), Nancy Wilson, Jo Stafford, Johnny Mercer, Margaret Whiting, Les Paul, Vince Guarldi and several more.
Nancy Wilson's "What are You Doing for New Year's"...yes a "holiday" song can sound sensual, The Canadian Brass, The Four Seasons, and for something further out...Gloria Estefan doing "Christmas Through Your Eyes".....which is all about what the holiday is all about, Children.
Please share yours.

gueuze_dude Thanks for your post, some good music for me to explore. ...and for breakfast on the Eggs Benedict, Happy Hollandaise. |
Been listening to the heavy metal/metal/hair metal/rock & roll CHRISTMAS music for years now. it’s great, there is one death metal style, which most in here won’t like. The regular ones are great, the Rob Halford CHRISTMAS is great. The twisted Christmas by twisted sister is also amazing! Still love the old classics, there’s something about Dio, Lemmy, D’Anno, Tate, lynch, Iommi, many of them available with many different musicians. I love these, no, their not just, parodies, they are all well played/and the singing is also good. my stereo is turned on Dec 23rd, and warmed up for Christmas morning, i love these rock and metal CHRISTMAS CDs. the Christmas music is not butchered at all! Heck, I’m going to grab them early and play this week. Merry CHRISTMAS everyone. Happy Hanukkah as well! |
