They are some sweet looking computers. I wish I could afford one.
Niveus music/video server
Curious whether anyone has any feedback on the sound quality of the Niveus PCs as a music/home theater server. Interesting that they have AES/EBU in/out, wordclock in/out, and balanced in/out, all in a PC chassis.
This can be used in place of a receiver/ssp. I am considering it as a front end to my preamp/amp (AES/EBU out to a DAC, with wordclock in/out). However, if the sound is good enough, I may forgo the DAC and output directly to the preamp (XLR out). The first thing that jumps out is whether there is too much noise introduced by all the audio components bundled together with PC stuff.
